YILDIZ PALACE – OUTER GUARDHOUSE (GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF TÜRKİYE – ISTANBUL OFFICE)

The Outer Guardhouse Building, located within the Yıldız Palace complex, sits in Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, on map section 51, block 486, parcel no. 1. According to the inscription on its western façade, the structure was built between 1885 and 1886 during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II. Originally constructed for military and administrative purposes, the building has a total usable area of 608 m². It served as the Headquarters of the Military Academy Service Battalion in 1950 and has been used by the Ministry of National Defense since 1979.

Positioned on a triangular-shaped parcel, the building follows an L-shaped layout on a north-south axis. It consists of a basement, ground floor, and mezzanine level. On the southern side of the building, there is a cistern connected by an arched passage.

As ALBA İnşaat, we completed the restoration of the building between 2015 and 2016.
